We are seeking a Civil Site Designer to become an integral part of our active Engineering Department supporting senior project managers with a wide range of skills and expertise to help bring single family, multi-family, and commercial developments to life. Success Factors for this Role
Engineering Skills: Ability to prepare construction documents for infrastructure improvements for residential or commercial land developments including grading, site hydrology and drainage, erosion control, underground utilities, paving/roadways, and civil/site permitting. Ability to revise and update existing drawings to reflect design changes and as-built information.
Communication: Effectively and positively ensure that others (colleagues, landowners, clients, etc.) are well informed in a timely fashion. Ability to present the firm’s work, updates, and reports in a confident and clear manner.
Attention to Detail: Our work requires precision. Prepare reports and exhibits, take and maintain accurate notes and records, and ensure that assigned projects are completed within the guidelines established by local, state, and federal laws, regulations, standards, and/or policies.
Team Player: Participate in meetings with engineering, design, and management colleagues, as well as with clients, landowners, and consultants. Accompany survey crew or field technicians as needed to locate grading markers, collect data required for construction drawing revisions, and/or perform engineering testing.
Minimum Requirements
Required:
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as an AutoCAD technician, or have a 2-year Civil Engineering Technology Degree
- Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D design software.
Preferred:
- Internship experience in land development or civil engineering
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to generate layout drawings from sketches and specifications
- Knowledge of standard drafting practices and procedures utilizing AutoCAD Civil3D
