JOB SUMMARY

This position must place top priority on quality and exceeding clients’ needs. The Project Manager is responsible for managing, assisting and overseeing design, reporting and planning for residential, and commercial development sites. The Project Manager has involvement with senior management and clients to manage project work, set deadlines, and assist in directing the work of our technical staff.

REPORTS TO: Senior Engineer/Principal

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBITIES

  • Manages multi-discipline projects.
  • Contract signing authority for standard contracts.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring and empowerment to other project managers and technicians.
  • Oversees client relationships, client development, and client retention.
  • Prepares and/or authorizes proposals, project budgets, and client presentations on major projects and on projects managed by other project managers.
  • Reviews and authorizes budgets of other project managers.
  • Coordinates workload and assigns projects to other project managers and support staff.
  • Develops long lasting relationships with clients to meet their needs and desires.
  • Continually seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college.
  • Professional Engineer licensed in the State of Wisconsin.
  • At least 10 years of experience in the design of site improvements for commercial, government, healthcare, or higher education project types.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil Design 3D, HydroCAD.
  • Requires a willingness to work some night meetings.
  • Good understanding of financial management.
  • Effective written and verbal communication is necessary and independent judgment is essential.
  • Good mentoring skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Positive and solution orientated approach to problems.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Skilled in PC usage and associated software including MS Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Experience with large design build projects.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position will require staff to be in the office and field with headquarters in Eau Claire, WI.
